REVIEW OF THE NSW NATIVE VEGETATION REGULATIONS

On 13 September 2011, the Minister for Environment, the Hon. Robyn Parker MP, announced the commencement of the review of the regulations for the Native Vegetation Act 2003. This will include a review of the Native Vegetation Regulation 2005, the Environmental Outcomes Assessment Methodology (EOAM) and the Private Native Forestry Code of Practice (PNF Code).   A series of 12 public information sessions have been held across the state throughout November as the first stage of consultation on the Native Vegetation Regulation.  The NRCMA organised the Northern Rivers region public meeting on Friday 25 November at South Grafton RSL. NORTHERN RIVERS CATCHMENT ACTION PLAN 2012-2022

Your opportunity to help plan priorities for Natural Resource Management in the Northern Rivers region

The Northern Rivers Catchment Action Plan (CAP) is being updated and the CMA is seeking your input. There will be several opportunities to participate in the CAP review process over the next 12 months including online and written submissions and workshops. Information about these opportunities is available on the Northern Rivers CMA CAP website at

This is your opportunity to participate in the planning process and help develop a new CAP that will set strategic direction for Natural Resource Management (NRM) investment in the Northern Rivers region for 2012-2022.

2011-12 Incentive Program 

On ground works

The Northern Rivers CMA is pleased to announce that 72 Small and Major Projects have been successful in this years Incentive Program. The projects will support a range of natural resource management (NRM) activities across the catchment. To be successful this year, projects needed to be exceptional across all assessment criteria. Plan development 

The Northern Rivers CMA is pleased to announce that 17 Natural Resource Management (NRM) Plans will be delivered through this years Incentive Program.  Not only will the Plans identify and describe the natural resouce values of many sites, they will guide future on ground NRM works. Unsuccessful this year?

For those that have been unsuccessful, please do not be discouraged from pursuing future funding. There are many opportunities to apply for implementation funds. Subscribe to our E-news monthly electronic newsletter to read about upcoming opportunities and events. The Little Aussie Battler needs your help!  

The Eastern Bristlebird (Dasyornis brachypterus monoides) is a small, brown, well-camouflaged, ground-dwelling bird. In 1998, around 150 birds were known to exist in the in northern population. Today, less than 50 are thought to remain.

Facing extinction, we can help save this Little Aussie Battler by restoring habitat, breeding program and ongoing research.   The Little Aussie Battler team are seeking investors and partners to help. Read more>
